Lauren B. Martin is an American actor, voice artist, writer, director, perhaps best known for her powerful work on the long-running CBS series “As the World Turns,” as breast cancer survivor “Camille Bennet.” A familiar face to network television audiences, Lauren’s diverse television appearances also include characters on “Another World,” “All My Children,” “Cosby,” “Law & Order,” “Unforgettable,” and “The Blacklist,” among others. Lauren has also been on the front line of digital and streaming entertainment, winning multiple awards in for her roles as an ambitious woman determined to improve her circumstances in the Amazon Prime Video series “Asunder,” and a grieving mother on the groundbreaking, Emmy-winning digital series “Anacostia,” along with several nominations for her leading comic turn as faded television star Laney Oliver on “Reality Sets In,” now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Lauren’s voice is equally as recognizable—if not more so—to audiences around the world, who’ve heard her voice characters on “Archer,” in the Disney favorite My Mom Married a Yeti, and as the English lead in the international hit Monster Hunt. Voice work proved a fitting path for the accomplished singer, who set upon her career path through her love of using her voice to interpret and entertain.
Lauren is passionate about improving the world around her, using her growing platform through the years in support of multiple causes close to her heart. She’s spoken at multiple Race for the Cure events, and appeared on “Montel Williams” to educate about early breast cancer detection. She later partnered with P.T Cruiser as a national spokesperson for the Diabetes Association, urging folks to self-test.
Lauren has also shone as a host and presenter, emceeing an NAACP gala in South Carolina (where she received the Key to the City), hosting a Daytime Emmys backstage show, and hosting an Autism-awareness karaoke event for many years, bringing together fans and stars for an unforgettable event.
Lauren can currently be seen on the streaming dramas “Pride: The Series,” “Asunder,” “Anacostia,” and the comic series “Reality Sets In.” The third season of the breakout audio drama serial “Forever and a Day,” where Lauren portrays a devious publishing magnate, began in early 2022, with You Are Not Special, her first full-length feature as writer and director is expected to make its long-awaited debut in 2023.
